Rather than building a system of their own, Climate FieldView relies on PubNub to deliver real-time updates of farm equipment usage. 

As an early adopter of PubNub, the Engineering division of Climate has built out a core feature of their platform called Remote View, which allows those who are not working in the field to easily monitor equipment use and connect in real time to share critical information. “Say you're a farm manager and you want to see what your team has worked on today. You can fire up Remote View on your device and see the work [being] performed,” said Artie Lee, Director of Engineering at Climate. 

Through Presence, powered by PubNub, their platform monitors equipment usage and pushes out real-time updates as the device state changes, like the amount of work performed that day by a specific vehicle. “A person in the office will know the work that is performed immediately via PubNub’s messaging infrastructure due to Presence,” said Lee. “They can then easily share data through various PubNub streams.” 

By using PubNub for these real-time capabilities, Climate has given their customers the ability to remotely monitor device usage and status changes, which helps to improve productivity and farming operations. 

Operating continuously and at scale during usage spikes
