Independent Third Party Confirms PubNub’s Comprehensive Security Practices
December 4, 2017 - PubNub, the company behind the world’s leading real-time Data Stream Network (DSN), today announced that it has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II audit, for privacy, confidentiality, security and availability, conducted by Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP. This achievement provides customers with even more confidence in how PubNub manages real-time data across the globe. As companies increasingly use outside vendors to perform activities that are core to their business operations and strategy, there is a need for more trust and transparency into cloud software providers’ operations, processes and results. PubNub received its SOC 2, Type II certification from the AICPA for meeting and adhering to the security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy standards established by its Service Organization Controls (SOC). By communicating the results of this audit, customers can be assured of their reliance on PubNub’s real-time infrastructure. "As a leading software solution for ophthalmologists, data security and HIPAA compliance are extremely important for Zeiss Veracity Surgical, and we evaluate all our technology partners through this lens too. When we evaluated PubNub as a real-time messaging service, we were very impressed how easy they were to use. We were sold on PubNub as a partner once we learned about their strengths in data security, SOC 2, and HIPAA compliance," said Danny Kirchmeier, Director of Technology at Carl Zeiss Meditec Digital Innovations. In addition to SOC 2 compliance, PubNub maintains a suite of audited processes that cover the gamut of their service delivery environment:- Data Encryption - in transit and at rest
- HIPAA Compliance
- Configurable Data Routing for PII Data
- EU-only and US-only Data Storage Options
